STLPivo proudly presents Ales for Tails Beer Festival supporting Tenth Life Cat Rescue and Needy Paws Dog Rescue.

We will be holding our 2nd Annual Ales for Tails Festival at the American Czech Educational Center 3/10/18

Guests will enjoy 4 hours of unlimited beer samples from local homebrewers in HomeBrewer Alley. Participating Brewers and Homebrewers will compete in multiple Brewing competitions judged both by the public as well as our local beer celebrity judges.

Attendees will enjoy live music as well as savory and sweet treats provided by local St. Louis restaurants and food trucks.
In the gymnasium guests will find the Meow Market with numerous vendors providing samples and selling goods. The Meow Market will feature a large range of vendors including but not limited to pet shops, animal rescues, arts/crafts, local business, soft drinks, and many more.

Ales for Tails is located at The American Czech Educational Center at 4690 Lansdowne Ave in South St. Louis City. The event will be both an outdoor and an indoor event including both outdoor and indoor seating.

This event is a 21+ only event, though Dogs of all ages are welcome to attend free of charge with supervision of owner and a leash. Tenth Life and Needy Paws will be on site with adoption information, so be sure to say “Hello” to all of our furry friends. Please make sure that your doggy doesn’t traumatize our cats.

All proceeds from this event will go to Tenth Life and Needy Paws to help them take care of our four legged pals.
Limited parking will be available on site. The event will take place rain or shine. To best help the animal charities involved no refunds will be issued. Doors will open at 1pm noon. Vendors, Food Trucks, and HomeBrewers can check in after 10am or earlier by personal request.

2017 Ales For Tails Homebrew Competition Rules

Format: Open Category People’s Choice (All BJCP categories including Meads and Ciders), One Category Celebrity Judged (Witbier, Open Category, no style limits) All beers must be made on an in home, non-commercial brewing system. Any entries found to have been made commercially will be disqualified.

Points for People’s Choice: Each guest who purchases a ticket will receive one ballot and a listing of the beers in the competition. Each visitor will cast their votes they for what they feel are the first, second and third best homebrews at the festival. Homebrewer with the most points (votes) will receive First Place award, homebrewer with the second most points will receive Second Place award, homebrewer with the third most points will receive Third Place award.

Amount of Beer needed: Minimum amount of 3-4 gallons, bottled or kegged. Please specify the names and styles of each of your beers when registering.

Celebrity Judged Category: For those competing in the Celebrity Judged category, during the competition you will pour one sample of a homebrewed Wit in a glass provided by the runners for the Celebrity Judges. Judges will decide the winner of their favorite Witbier by their interpretation, not by style guidelines or BJCP Best of Show rules.
